Like you, as much as we love the shooting sports, the high cost of ammunition had us cutting back on something we love to do. We decided to be a part of the solution and find a way to solve the problem. Our decision led us to open Oakland Ammunition with a goal of allowing the shooting enthusiast, the occasional shooter, or the everyday Joe to enjoy this great recreational activity without breaking the bank with each slow steady squeeze of the trigger.

At Oakland Ammunition we understand price is important but it's not the only consideration. Quality which ultimately translates to safety has to be first and foremost.

It's important to understand the difference between "reloads" and "name brand" ammunition. Arguably the most important aspect of your ammunition is the components used to manufacture it. Of course, by components we mean the casing, primer, power, and projectile. The first three are easy, our primers, powder, and projectiles are first quality, brand new components coming from many of the same manufacturers you are already familiar with, brands like Accurate, Winchester, Hornady, and others. The final component, the casing, is generally what separates "reloads" from "name brand" ammunition. In our case, our casings come from various local and regional sources. After being brought to our facility, the casings are washed, polished, hand inspected, trimmed (rifle only), de-primed, and sized to factory specs prior to reloading. After the reloading process each round is chamber gauged and hand inspected prior to packaging. This tightly controlled process is what allows us to maintain the highest levels of quality while delivering superior value.
