Chicago Street in Joliet, formerly “The Department” reopened this Fall as “Juliet’s” – an Italian inspired restaurant and sports bar. Chicago restaurateur, Will County native, and attorney, Carmen Rossi opened Juliet’s as a new concept that embraces and celebrates the rich history of the building. The downtown building was constructed sometime in the 1890’s and has housed several businesses including a grocer, shoe store, dentist and theatre. Honoring the heritage of Joliet, Mr. Rossi found it fitting to return the city’s original name, Juliet, back to its origins.

Carmen Rossi’s business ventures in Chicago include Hubbard Inn, in River North, Barn & Company and Lincoln Avenue Social in Lincoln Park, 63 in Rogers Park, and opening soon in Old Town, Pomp & Circumstance.

“I am looking forward to joining the other Joliet downtown businesses and being part of the revitalization of the area,” said Mr. Rossi. “I am a proud native of the area and look forward to the opportunity to do a larger project in the heart of Will County, downtown Joliet.”
