Design Corner - Gardening - Gardens

gardenIt is a proven fact that flowers and plants will make people feel better instantly. What a better way to incorporate fresh flowers and plants into your everyday life than by planting a garden.

Inspiration - The first step to designing a beautiful garden starts in your head. You have to imagine and plan out what your vision is before you start anything. You must educate yourself on what you will be planting as well. All flowers and plants are not all cared for the same way. You must first find out which ones need direct sunlight and which ones need indirect because this of course will effect your placement. Find out how each thing you plant will grow and which direction it will grow. Everything can either grow up or it can grow out. You do not want your plants, flowers, vegetable, or herbs too close to each other because they will not grow and bloom properly. For example, find out if your tomato and rose bushes need trellises to grow and produce the best tomatoes and roses.

Location - Once you have the vision in place you must choose the location of your garden and start to prepare the soil. Next, choose the appropriate fertilizers and mulches. You have to take your local weather into consideration. Make sure to check which flowers, plants, vegetables grow best during the current season. Gardens can go in front of your home, in back of your home, or even on the side. They can be planted anywhere there is dirt or a pot that can hold dirt.

Water - Not only do you have to pay attention to the appropriate sun exposure when choosing the location for your garden, but you also have to pay attention to the amount of water your plants and flowers will receive. Water is a vital essential when growing plants and flowers. It is important to make sure your garden receives plenty of water, however, not too much. You will want to take notice if part of your garden falls under an overhang or roof, which will prevent the rain to reach it. If this is the case, than you will have to ensure that you water that part of the garden with a hose or sprinkler.

There are a lot of things to consider when planning the garden of your dreams, and as long as you long as you take these things into consideration you will be one step closer to turning your dreams into reality. Please look inside for more information and ideas.
