Throwing a house warming party means one thing. Someone has just bought a new home! Whether you are throwing yourself a house warming party or you are throwing this party for a close friend it is such an exciting time. Purchasing a new home is a major accomplishment. It is one of the biggest investments one will make throughout their life. Filling your new space with friends and family is a great way to warm up your space right away. Not to mention people usually bring gifts to a house warming party!
Invitation - Every party must start out with invitations or else how would any one know about the party? A great way to get creative is to send out invitations with a picture of your new home on them, or you could always personalize invitations on evite.com. Ofr course this party will take place at your new home, so this is a time to show off your new accomplishment. It is OK to register for gifts for a housewarming party, and don't forget to always invite your new neighbors!
Food - When it comes to planning the menu at your party, keep it simple. Chances are you have not completely unpacked from the move and you are not entirely acclimated with your new space, so catering is a great option. Finger foods and appetizers are always a favorite for guests. Most likely people will be doing a lot of walking around at your house warming party. After all, the house is new and people will probably want to see the whole house. In general it is alright to not put up too many decorations; you will want the house to be the main decoration. Possibly lighting a few candles will probably be enough.
Everyone that you have invited to your party is happy for you. You do not need to over impress your guests with fancy decorations and elaborate sit down meals; the house alone is a huge accomplishment. Keep it simple and light and you will start off on the right foot. Place fresh flowers randomly throughout your home and you are in perfect shape to have your loved ones over to check out your new pad.
